- Describe modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors and enhancers that are known to increase the risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD).
- Explain currently available ASCVD risk estimation tools.
- Apply tools that can predict risk for ASCVD across patient populations using a case study approach.
- Summarize Coronary Artery Calcium Scoring considerations.
Hypertension: Identification, Management, and Equity (1.0 CE contact hours)
Learning Objectives
- Review current hypertension guidelines.
- Describe the association between high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease risk.
- Explain the impact of implicit bias, oppression and discrimination on cardiovascular health.
- Discuss treatment strategies for hypertension according to patient’s risk level, co-morbidities, race/ethnicity age.
